However, I decided to give repairing it a try. *Note: The iron rod attached to the hook was inserted just to test it, as there happened to be a hole of the right size in the broken hook.<\/p>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Materials and Tools Used<\/h2>\n<p>Here are the materials and tools used this time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oyumaru (mold-making material, from a 100-yen shop)<\/li>\n<li>Acrylic resin powder for nail art (polymer powder, <a>https:\/\/amzn.to\/3PfFQ44<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Liquid to harden the nail art powder (ethyl methacrylate, <a>https:\/\/amzn.to\/3PfFQ44<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Syringe used for applying the resin (from a 100-yen shop)<\/li>\n<li>Sandpaper (for finishing)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* The powder and liquid are alternatives to Plaprepair (<a>https:\/\/amzn.to\/3PfotAr<\/a>).<br \/>\n* Oyumaru is an alternative to Katadori-kun (<a>https:\/\/amzn.to\/4a46AhK<\/a>).<\/p>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Repair Procedure<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Making the Mold<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To restore the shape of the broken hook, I used Oyumaru to create a mold.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1446.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-262 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1446-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Hook Repair\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1446-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1446-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1446-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1446.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I heated the Oyumaru to soften it, pressed it against the broken part to shape it, and then let it cool and solidify to create the mold.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Attaching the Mold<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I fitted the mold made from Oyumaru onto the repair area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1449.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-263 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1449-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Hook Repair\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1449-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1449-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1449-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1449.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This serves as a guide for the broken part to return to its original shape.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Repairing with Acrylic Resin<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Using the acrylic resin powder for nail art, I poured the resin into the mold.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1453.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-266 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1453-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Hook Repair\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1453-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1453-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1453-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1453-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1453.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1450.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-264 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1450-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Hook Repair\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1450-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1450-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1450-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1450-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/donguri3.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/IMG_1450.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I mixed the powder and the acrylic liquid into a paste and carefully spread it inside the mold. After that, I waited until it fully cured.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Finishing<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I removed the mold and checked the repaired area. Since you can reuse them instead of throwing them away, it is also an eco-friendly method.
