cycle finishes, and the drying time has also become longer.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, for this model, <a href=\"https:\/\/kadenfan.hitachi.co.jp\/support\/information\/20240612_1.html\">a recall for the BD-STX120H\/BD-SX120H\/BD-SV120H was issued on June 12, 2024<\/a>, and our unit&#8217;s drying filter was replaced with a new one at that time.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, when I noticed this poor drying performance, the very first thing that came to my mind was:<br \/>&#8220;Has the drying filter clogged again?&#8221;<br \/>That was the single thought on my mind.<\/p>\n<p>For washer-dryers, the condition of the drying filter is directly linked to performance.<br \/>Even though it was replaced due to the recall, dirt naturally accumulates with continued use.<\/p>\n<h2>Removing and Cleaning the Drying Filter<\/h2>\n<p>The task this time was very straightforward.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Disassemble and remove the drying filter unit<\/li>\n<li>Completely remove the lint stuck deep inside<\/li>\n<li>Reassemble it as it was and check if the drying performance is restored<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Convinced that it was a filter clog rather than a complex failure,<br \/>I didn&#8217;t chase unnecessary possibilities and focused first on cleaning the filter.<\/p>\n<h2>Sure Enough, the Cause Was a &#8220;Clogged Drying Filter&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>When I disassembled it and took out the filter, the expected sight unfolded before me.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Damp lint was packed tightly deep inside where regular cleaning cannot reach<\/li>\n<li>Fine dust remained in layers within the gaps and grooves of the filter frame<\/li>\n<li>A portion of the airflow path was nearly completely blocked<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was a classic filter clog, making it obvious that drying would be impossible under those conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Even with a filter replaced under a recall, dirt accumulates after a few months of use.<br \/>In particular, the drying structure of front-loading machines tends to easily trap humidity and lint, causing accumulation.<\/p>\n<h2>Performance Restored After Cleaning<\/h2>\n<p>I thoroughly washed the filter with water and removed all accumulated dust.<br \/>I also vacuumed out the dust remaining inside before reassembling the unit.<\/p>\n<p>The results were immediate.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drying times returned to their normal, shorter duration<\/li>\n<li>Dampness completely disappeared after the drying cycle ended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Indeed, the sole cause was a clogged drying filter.<br \/>It made me realize once again the importance of thoroughly cleaning the most crucial filter before suspecting complex malfunctions.<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion \u2014 Filters Will Naturally Clog Even After Recall Replacement<\/h2>\n<p>What we learned from this incident is very simple.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Even drying filters replaced via a recall will get dirty with normal use<\/li>\n<li>Dust that cannot be removed by external cleaning alone accumulates deep inside<\/li>\n<li>Longer drying times and damp laundry are almost always caused by a clogged filter<\/li>\n<li>Performance often improves easily through disassembly and replacement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Front-loading washer-dryers are high-performance appliances, but filter maintenance is the key to their performance.<br \/>Thanks to this disassembly and cleaning, we can
