[Google AdSense] Summary of Site Improvement Points That Passed the Review

Here is a summary of the final editing points when passing the Google AdSense review and the overall picture of site improvements implemented up to approval. I hope this will be helpful for those who are about to apply or are considering re-evaluation.

Review Overview

I started the AdSense review at the end of November 2024, and after a total of 8 applications, I finally achieved approval on April 28, 2025.
The period required from application to approval was about 5 months, during which I improved quality by repeating the cycle of improvement -> submission -> feedback -> re-improvement.

The Decisive Edits Made at the End

# Edit Location Content
Added Profile
to Sidebar
  • Improved credibility as a site operator

  • Briefly introduced the site icon and operation philosophy

  • Made it clear at a glance “who is writing this site"

Changed WordPress Theme
(Cocoon → Luxeritas)
  • Under the Cocoon environment, no matter what I tweaked—such as caching or optimization—the scores did not improve, and I could not identify the cause.
Although I personally liked it, I made the reluctant choice to change the theme.
  • Luxeritas is lightweight, highly tunable, and features fast mobile display

  • Improved the PageSpeed Insights (mobile) score on the top page from about 50 to about 90. Pages other than the top page average around 80.

Emphasis on Page Speed and UX Evaluation
  • Google strongly evaluates mobile display speed and usability through AMP (released in 2016) and Lighthouse (adopted in 2018)

  • Achieving a high score in PageSpeed Insights is a plus not only for ad reviews but also for SEO and overall UX

Points That Did Not Contribute to Passing the Review

  • Although Google AdSense’s site information table has an item called “ads.txt status", placing ads.txt is unrelated. Placing it after passing is completely fine.

Conclusion

Through these improvements, not only did I pass the review, but the overall quality of the site has also greatly improved.
If you are about to take on the AdSense challenge, please keep the following in mind:

  1. Clearly indicate site operator credibility (profile / operator info).

  2. Content quality and volume (character count / original images).

  3. Mobile fast display and user experience (theme selection / PageSpeed Insights).

  4. Setup of essential pages (privacy policy / contact / sitemap).

Clearing these will bring you much closer to passing the AdSense review. Wishing everyone success!
